Punchari Ka Lotha Baba Mandira
Situated in the village of Punchari on the outer parikrama path is this very popular
temple which is said to be dedicated to one of Krishna’s very dear friends named Lotha. It is said that when Lotha, who is believed to hail from this village, heard that Krishna and Balarama were leaving for Mathura, he decided to come and sit at this place by the side of the road and wait for Them to return. Local Vrajavasis established a temple here and during the course of time, this deity of Lotha Baba started to be worshiped by some people as Hanuman because there is a form of Hanuman known as Luthera-Hanuman.

Püïcharé marks the southern border of Govardhana. We have previously said that Govardhana’s form resembles a cow, but it can also be likened to a peacock. This part, Püïcharé, is raised high like the peacock’s tail (püïcha). Parikramä of Govardhana’s eastern side is completed here, and from here parikramä of the western side begins. Apsarä-kuëòa and Navala-kuëòa are situated here
Madhurya Dham
The deity in this temple is Puncchari Ka Lauta, who is one of Krishna’s close friends. Of the name Lautha, and because he is close to Puncchari he has become known by the name Puncchari-ka-Lautha. When he saw that Akrura was taking Krishna and Balarama away to Mathura he Informed Krisna that, “I have prepared so many nice food stuffs for you, so when will you return? Krishna informed him that he would return for sure the day after tomorrow. Hearing this Lautha declared that he would not eat or drink anything until Krishna returned. After which he came and sat at this spot. And still to this day, he is waiting for Krishna to return. Amazingly by Krishna’s grace Lauta never became skinny. Puncchari-Ka-Lautha is considered to be non different from Hanuman, who is the deity to be prayed to give us strength and determination while we are performing parikrama of Govardhana, to make our endeav¬or successful.
Thus everyone especially stops here to offer their respects in the ( ourse of their parikrama. This deity is one of the most famous in Vraja Dham, and when people come here, they sing the following small song:
dhani toiyai puncchari ke lautha
anna khai nahin pani pivai,
are tau tutau parayau hai silauta
dudha na chodai dahiv na choda
are tu tai pi gayau chahcha kathau ta
This deity of Lautha is in a sitting position and is red colored, and just like we see in Hanuman temples people come and apply reddish orange to the body of Lautha.
This temple is open from early morning to late night. So after having offered our obeisances here we will continue, and shortly we will arrive at the all merciful Kadamba Vana.
